Cloudy skies have taken over Malta this afternoon in what could be a prelude of rain, according to the Met Office.

A thunderstorm is expected on Saturday, with rain also expected in the following four days until Wednesday, when the wind is also set to pick up.

Temperatures will remain within the winter average, with highs of between 14 and 15 degrees and lows between 9 and 12.
