PL doing all it could to retain power, including fraud – Grech

The Labour Party is doing all it could to retain political power, going as far as to commit fraud, Nationalist Party leader Bernard Grech said Friday.

Speaking in activities in Hamrun and Ta’ Xbiex, Grech urged the people to vote against Labour’s way of doing politics on 8 June.

Grech was referring to decisions taken by 22 magistrates who ordered that people who were manipulated into changing their addresses to an uninhabitable block in Siggiewi are returned to their original locality. The PL created all this in an attempt to retain the majority of councillors in Siggiewi, which it won by a whisker in 2019.

He said the PN is preparing different plans for different localities, depending on their needs. Other proposals are across the board because common problems like traffic and the environment need to be tackled holistically.

Ta’ Xbiex, for example, needed a civic centre whereas, for Hamrun, a plan was needed to make the locality safer, and this can be done through security cameras and a better community policing, he said.
