Newly sworn-in Prime Minister Robert Abela said on Monday evening that his government will offer stability and peace of mind.
In his first official message to the nation, recorded hours after he was sworn in by President George Vella, Abela said it is his privilege to serve.
"The country needs to keep moving forward to create more wealth that reaches everyone. People want stability and peace of mind."
Abela said he had already started working to ensure that the implementation of the government's electoral manifesto continues. This, he said, will improve people's lives, including through social justice.
"We want to see the country register more successes. I entered politics to help people and this is what I will keep doing. No one can be left behind in society. People want unity, and that is what we are going to give them."
We are all children of a single, united country. We are all brothers and sisters, he continued.
Together, we will keep working for the benefit of the country.
