The exciting 2-2 draw between Floriana and Gzira United is not over yet as both sides lodged a protest with the MFA yesterday about the ineligibility of newly signed players, in a rather odd and unusual case.

In their protest the Greens are claiming that Gzira's new signing from Mosta Dexter Xuereb, who was making his debut for the Maroons, was ineligible to play because he still had to serve a one-match ban picked up while still playing with Mosta.

Gzira's protest lodged is practically on the same lines. The Maroons are stating that Floriana's new signing Marcelo Dias was ineligible to play because he still had to serve a one-match ban picked up when still playing for Senglea.
