Six persons are being investigated by the police in connection with the collapse of a building in Hamrun that caused the death of a woman.
In a first statement on Tuesday morning, the police said that four persons were being investigated: an architect, the site technical officer and two workers, who all were held under arrest soon after the accident.
In a second statement in the afternoon, the police said that two other persons were arrested - the two contractors employed by the developers.
The police investigation is running in parallel with a magisterial inquiry being led by Magistrate Claire Stafrace Zammit.
Miriam Pace was killed when the residence she was in collapsed on Monday afternoon. She lived in a house adjacent to a plot of land which was being excavated.
The police said that the position of the woman was located with the assistance of a sniffer dog at around 9.55pm.
