Monday, 16 March 2020, 13:59 Last update: about 5 years ago

The Armed Forces of Malta are assisting the health authorities in the delivery of groceries and daily needs to citizens who are under quarantine at home.

A number of deliveries are being made at several times throughout the day to ensure that those in need get the assistance they require.

In the meantime, members of the Civil Protection Department have been helping medical staff and police officers in carrying out random inspections at residences of persons under quarantine.

Those breaching quarantine rules are subject to a fine of €1,000. So far, four people have been found in breach and fined.

Over the past few days, CPD personnel have been given refresher training and have carried out simulations on decontaminating infected areas.
