Indeed people from around the Maltese islands took a moment, went outside, and applauded the country's heroes. In Pembroke, some fireworks were even also launched. Malta has been hit by the Coronavirus as several measures have been put in place, and anyone coming from abroad is made to go into mandatory quarantine. Other measures, such as the closing of schools, have also been taken, and Malta's healthcare professionals are working hard to contain the situation and treat patients.

The Malta independent and its directors would like to thank the all the medical staff for their work and dedication.
