The government has announced that two new Coronavirus swab testing hubs will begin operating on Thursday.

The former VIP lounge at the Gozo heliport has been converted into the first Coronavirus testing hub in Gozo, Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri has said.

This, the minister explained in a post on Facebook, was done in 72 hours.

The minister thanked the workers who made this possible, the primary healthcare workers, and Health Minister Chris Fearne for coordinating and aiding in the operation of the hub.

"The health of Gozitans is a priority for the government in this delicate time," Camilleri said. The hub is set to begin operating tomorrow, and will be open Mondays to Sundays from 8am to 2pm.

A Health Ministry statement read that a new hub in the Luxol Grounds in Pembroke will also open on Thursday, and will be open Mondays to Sundays between 8am and 8pm, like the one in Hal-Farrug.

Everyone is reminded that people with symproms should call 111 and not go directly to a hub. All the hubs will not accept people without an appointment. In order to go to a hub, people should not use public transport, a taxi or go by walk.
