Eleven persons were arrested by the police in drug raids carried out in an apartment and a public garden in St Julian’s.

The raids were carried out by the Sliema and St Julian’s police districts together with the immigration unit and the dog section.

The police first acted on an apartment in Dragonara Road, where two men from Latvia aged 20 and 22 and a Spanish woman aged 33 were arrested after cannabis was found in the bedroom along with other drug paraphernalia.

Another raid was later carried out in a public garden in the vicinity, where eight persons from Somalia were arrested.

This was followed by a search in a residence in Schriber Street where drugs were also found, the police said.
