The police arrested a young man and a young woman in a drug raid in Gzira on Thursday evening.

The 22-year-old man of Hamrun and the 21-year-old woman of Zebbug were arrested while they were in a car on the Strand in Gzira at 7pm.

Some 50 sachets containing synthetic drugs as well as a considerable amount of cash were seized by the police.

The two were resident in a hotel in the same area and, during a search in their room, the police also found cannabis and other items related to drugs.
