An employee at one of the COVID-19 swabbing test centres has tested positive to the virus, the Health Superintendent said today.
The locality of the centre was not disclosed. There are three centres, in Pembroke, Luqa and Gozo.
The statement said that a routine test conducted among employees at the centre exposed the case. The employee was experiencing no symptoms.
The statement said that the employee always wore protective clothing while at the centre and as such there is no risk of transmission of the disease. It is likely that the employee contracted the virus while in the community.
The hub has been disinfected and is back in service.
