A 29-year-old Nigerian man who resides in Victoria, Gozo, was taken before the courts today.

He was accused of having, on 3 June some time between noon and 2.30pm, raped a woman, and also held her against her will.

The accused pleaded not guilty and is being kept under arrest.

The prosecution is led by Inspector Bernard Charles Spiteri
