49 migrants fleeing from Libya, including two pregnant women and a child, are in distress 50 nautical miles from Lampedusa, NGO Alarm Phone has said.

The NGO, in a tweet, said that the people onboard the boat which is "in Malta's Search and Rescue Zone" are "panicking as water is entering the boat," and highlighted the need for urgent rescue.
