The group of PN MPs who are opposing Adrian Delia as Opposition Leader said that they remain determined to bring about the necessary change in the party and in the country.

The President today said that he will not be removing Adrian Delia as Opposition Leader, despite him having lost the support of the majority of PN MPs.

The rebel MPs said that for the second time in a week it was confirmed that Delia no longer holds the trust of the majority of MPs in the PN Parliamentary Group. "More so, it was established for the second time that the absolute majority of PN MPs want Therese Comodini Cachia as Opposition Leader."

After the President confirmed that Delia does not hold the trust of the absolute majority og PN MPs, he had the duty to remove him from the post and appoint the person who has that trust. That is what the Constitution demands, and this is what the President failed to do."

"The decision goes against what the Constitution wants, and this as was explained by a number of Constitutional experts who spoke out."

The MP said that with a sense of responsibility and commitment to the country and the PN, "we will continue encouraging for the PN to be led by a person of integrity, honesty and credibility who puts the national interest and the interest of the party before their own personal interests."

In light of the latest development, Therese Comodini Cachia said "I remain determined to serve the country and the PN, especially in light of the unity I managed to bring about over the past days among the PN MPs and in light of the hope we gave to people through the courageous step we took together."
