PN denies claims that it commissioned internal survey

The Nationalist Party has denied claims that it commissioned an internal survey.

The Sunday Times of Malta reported that the relative majority of Nationalist Party councillors want party leader Adrian Delia to step down according to an internal party survey.

In a statement later on Sunday however, the PN referred to the article, and denied commissioning an internal survey.

"Partit Nazzjonalista denies that it conducted a survey or any other form of internal surveys as stated, or hiring a particular company as said in the article or any other agencies to conduct such a survey."

The PN's General Council will next weekend vote on whether a future National Convention will elect a leader for the Party, or vote to confirm Delia as leader.

This came about after the two internal factions have been locking horns over the leadership of the party, however a way forward was reached during an Executive Committee meeting earlier this week, where the aforementioned vote was decided to take place.
