Negative Covid-19 test required for Maltese travelling to Greece

Travellers from Malta are required to provide a negative Covid-19 test if they are travelling to Greece, Keep Talking Greece website reports.

The Greek government announced on Friday stricter emergency measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus after the recent surge of Covid-19 cases. Standing customers in bars are banned and so are religious processions. For travellers from Malta a negative Covid-19 test will necessary.

Following suggestions by the Committee of Infectious Diseases at the Health Ministry, the head of Civil Protection Nikos Hardalias, announced that travellers from Malta are required to show a negative result of molecular control (PCR) for Covid-19.

The test will have to be carried out 72 hours before travellers’ entry to Greece.

The measure goes into force as of 00:01 Wednesday, 12 August 2020.
