The Medical Association of Malta said that a “new record” of Coronavirus cases is expected today Wednesday.

In a statement, MAM said that the Covid-19 situation has “deteriorated significantly leading to sudden and sharp increase in numbers, and that the tally of new cases on Wednesday is expected to reach a new record”.

On Tuesday 11 August, four patients were admitted to Mater Dei with serious Covid 19 symptoms, bringing the tally to seven hospitalised patients, MAM said.
