Two youths were injured in an argument in Valletta on Friday night, police said.
The police said in a statement that at around 11:30pm, two youths – who are 20 and 21 years old and are both Mtarfa residents – walked into the Valletta police station injured, saying that they had been involved in an argument in Triq il-Lanca in the same Valletta.
One of them had been allegedly assaulted with a pointed weapon.
Both were taken to the Floriana Health Centre, where the 21-year-old was certified as suffering from light injuries, and the 20-year-old certified as suffering from grievous injuries.
Police said that two Syrians – a 19-year-old who lives in Floriana and a 20-year-old who lives in Marsa – are being held for further investigation.
Police investigations are ongoing.
