Italian sport media have given great exposure to Maltese teenager Haley Bugeja who, in her Serie A debut, scored two goals for Sassuolo in their win against Napoli.
The Maltese youngster was the star of the game, Gazzetta dello Sport writes, explaining how the striker turned the match around with her skills.
Speaking to the newspaper, Bugeja said that she had followed Sassuolo because she knew of their interest in her services.
“I knew I was coming to a new level of the game but I was confident in my abilities,” she added.
“I dedicate the first goal to me because I worked hard to get here,” she said. “The second goes to my family who have supported me all the way.”
She said she is happy to have arrived in an ambitious club which “has welcomed me” with open arms.
