In what is another spike of cases, health authorities reported on Wednesday that 63 new cases of Covid-19 had been found overnight.
The number of new cases is a marked increase on recent days, when the average number of new cases was roughly between 20 and 30 cases.
31 new recoveries were also registered overnight, authorities said.
It means that Malta currently has 388 active cases of Covid-19.
2,044 swab tests were carried out in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of swab tests up to 207,185.
Authorities said that today’s cases are still being investigated, but gave details about the cases found on Tuesday.
Out of the 23 cases found on Tuesday, five were family members of previously known cases, three were work colleagues, one was a direct contact of a positive case, one was imported, and seven were from different homes of the elderly.
Malta has had 2,162 cases of Covid-19 since 7 March. 1,760 of those have recovered, and 14 have died.
