New headquarters for servizz.gov opened in Mosta

Thursday, 24 September 2020, 09:05 Last update: about 5 years ago

The new headquarters in Mosta from where servizz.gov will soon start operating will continue to strengthen this agency’s success story. In just five years, servizz.gov has completely changed the concept of how the Public Service delivers its services and was the catalyst of the huge leap in people’s trust in the Public Service.

This was stated by Principal Permanent Secretary Mario Cutajar when he visited the new servizz.gov premises, soon to be inaugurated, as part of Public Service Week 2020. Cutajar was welcomed by servizz.gov’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Massimo Vella, and other members of the agency’s top management. Cutajar also visited servizz.gov’s regional hub in Ħal Qormi, which will be offering public officers the opportunity to work remotely.

The Principal Permanent Secretary listed some of servizz.gov’s successes in recent years, fulfilling the Public Service’s objective of bringing services closer to the citizen and thus drastically improving the customer experience.

Cutajar mentioned how the first five servizz.gov regional hubs have now increased to 24, each of which delivers 1500 services under one roof. On the freephone 153, servizz.gov receives some 60,000 calls a month – a huge increase when compared to the 2,000 calls of five years ago. This in addition to the government services grouped in a single website with all the relevant eforms, as well as the mobile app “maltapps” which has greatly conributed to making government services accessible everywhere 24 hours a day.

Cutajar also mentioned the three specialised servizz.gov hubs in Floriana, set up last year to focus on education, taxation and family services respectively.

Cutajar said that the successes of servizz.gov will undoubtedly continue to increase in the coming months, thus further fulfilling the Public Service’s vision of delivering a service of excellence to its clients.
