Prime Minister Robert Abela, together with Finance Minister Edward Scicluna and Parliamentary Secretary Clayton Bartolo, visited the MITA offices to see the new facilities which were built through a €1 million investment.

The project took 9 months to complete and is up to date with the latest industry standards, the government said in a statement. "The new facilities will help to reassure the best protection for the digital information systems of the government. Part of the investment also included a forensic lab for malware analysis. This, therefore, improves the control of malware."

Head of Facilities Management Wayne Valentine and Chief Technology Officer Jonathan Cassar went on to explain how this investment will help Malta move forward towards the digital age. This could only be done by keeping MITA on the cutting edge of modern facilities.

Executive Chairman Tony Sultana thanked Prime Minister Robert Abela for his visit and reassured that the new facilities will improve Malta's standards in digital infrastructure.

Finance Minister Edward Scicluna made his closing remarks by expressing his satisfaction with the level of professionalism with which MITA operates. "Over the years, MITA managed to invest in human resources and I am proud of the high level of proficiency with which its employees work.
