The db Group has changed its ITS proposal, which now comprises of two 17-storey towers and a hotel, instead of one 31-storey tower and a hotel.

The latest plans also reduce the height of the proposed hotel from 17 floors to 12.

The changes come in the form of new plans that were submitted on 6 December.

The db Group project is one of the more controversial proposals, and had seen strong opposition not just from NBGOs, but residents and local councils from surrounding areas also. Many argued against the massing of the project as well as the overdevelopment and traffic issues.

The original permit had been revoked by the courts as one of the Planning Authority Board Members was revealed to have had a conflict of interest in the case when voting on the project.

The tower had previously already been reduced from 38 floors to 31 floors, however now it has been further reduced.
