109 new Covid-19 cases, 64 patients recover

109 new cases of Covid-19 were registered on Thursday, the health authorities said in their daily update.

64 patients have recovered, meaning that the number of active cases have risen to 1,434.

In total, since the start of the pandemic, there have been 12,774 cases of Covid-19 in Malta, of which 11,121 people recovered and 219 people have died.

Between Wednesday and Thursday, 2,858 swab tests were carried out, for a total of 514,757.

While Thursday's announced cases are still being investigated, details were given about the cases announced on Wednesday. 35 cases were family members of previously known cases, 14 were from contact with positive work colleagues, 12 were from direct contact with other positive cases and 10 were from social gatherings.
