Updated: Three in hospital after brawl involving 50 people in Paceville

Three persons were taken to hospital early this morning after a brawl involving around 50 people in Paceville, the police said.

Most of the people involved in the incident were Syrians. The condition of the three taken to hospital is unknown.

The incident took place at around 1am in an establishment in Gort Street, and spilled outside the premises.

Medical assistance was sought and three of those involved were taken to hospital for treatment.

The police later said that the three persons who were injured were two Libyan men aged 34 and 33, and a 36-year-old Irish woman. Their condition is still unknown.

Footage of the incident showed officers brandishing taser guns in a bid to control the crowd. The police said a taser gun was used.

The police are questioning a number of people in connection with the incident.
