148 new Covid-19 patients as active cases surpass 1,600 again

The number of active Covid-19 cases has climbed over 1,600 again as there were more new patients than recovered cases on Monday, health authorities said.

There were 148 new cases registered on Monday, for a total of 13,230 cases since the first was registered on 7 March last year.

The number of deaths has now reached 222, after two more deaths were recorded today, while active cases stand at 1,622.

The last time the number of active cases was higher was on 17 December, when it stood at 1,623.

The number of people who have recovered in the last 24 hours was 111, for a total of 11,386.

The number of swab tests carried out on Sunday was 2,915, for a total of 524,256.

The cases recorded today are still being investigated.

From the cases reported on Sunday, 17 were of family members, four of work colleagues, two were direct concacts and five from social gatherings.
