Four drivers were caught behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol, the police said.

Inspections were carried out in Zejtun on Saturday night by the district police, and members of the Armed Forces of Malta and the Rapid Intervention Unit.

Other drivers were booked in Sliema for driving without licence or insurance cover, while a passenger was caught with cocaine.

Some 40 bookings were issued to drivers for contraventions this morning on the Coast Road.
