Tributes pour in for Dylan Axiak, victim of Fgura incident

 Tributes have started pouring in following the news of the death of 21-year-old Dylan Axiak on Monday morning, after he was electrocuted while working in a Fgura residence.

The young man from Marsascala was carrying out works on a site at 11.30am at Triq Mater Boni Consili in Fgura. He was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance and pronounced dead soon after.

Several friends and family resorted to his Facebook page to express their sorrow and condolences over the news of his death, with Axiak being described as a good and cheerful person, and a good friend.

Many of his friends and family also said that the news of his death was a “great shock,” while others remembered him by posting several photos of him and his friends.

A car-enthusiast, nicknamed “chubby” by his friends, many posts on his page were of friends who said that they could not believe the news, and that Axiak had left the world too early.

Many said that he had a heart of gold, and a great character, and could not believe the news, given that Axiak had recently met up with them. Some even posted chat logs with Axiak.

“My friend, every day we would speak and joke, picking on each other. But today you left me without words,” one comment read.

Axiak’s girlfriend also posted a tribute, saying that she had last seen him the morning of the incident, as he left for work. She continued that she could not believe Axiak was gone, and far too soon.

She said that there was no one like Axiak, who was always looking to cheer others up. She expressed her love towards him through photos of them together.

Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia was informed of the case and appointed an inquiry. Police and OHSA investigations are ongoing.
