A 21-year-old man was arrested for arson, in connection with a vehicle fire in Tarxien, the police said in a statement.

"Days of investigations and observing the movements of the person in question led to the man being arrested in Valletta on Wednesday night."

On 31 December 2020, at 2am, a Toyota Vitz was reported as being on fire on Triq l-Isqof Tumas Gargallo in Tarxien.

After the man in question was arrested, the police searched his behicle where they found what is suspected to be cocaine.

The man is expected to be charged later today.
