138 new cases of Covid-19 found as three more patients die

138 new cases of Covid-19 were reported on Wednesday, while three more patients have died while positive for the virus.

In their daily update, health authorities said that during the last 24 hours, a 68-year-old man and an 84-year-old man had passed away at Mater Dei Hospital, while a 90-year-old woman had passed away at the Karin Grech Rehabilitation Hospital.

It means that 273 people have now died in Malta.

190 people meanwhile have recovered, meaning that the number of active cases has decreased to 2,610.

2,973 swab tests were carried out on Tuesday, taking the total number of tests so far up 621,426.

Meanwhile, 30,252 doses of the vaccine had been administered by the end of Tuesday.  4,891 people have received both doses of the vaccine.

Malta has had 18,306 cases of Covid-19 so far. 15,423 of those have recovered, while 273 have died.
