163 new cases of Covid-19 found as total deaths exceed 300

163 new cases of Covid-19 were reported on Thursday as three new deaths took the total death count related to the virus over the 300 mark.

Authorities said that in the last 24 hours, three men aged 82, 78, and 81 passed away at Mater Dei Hospital.  This takes Malta’s total death toll up to 301.

156 people meanwhile have recovered from the virus, meaning that there has been a slight increase in the number of active cases up to 2,429.

3,209 swab tests were carried out yesterday, taking the total number of swab tests up to 665,335 so far.

57,683 doses of the vaccine have been administered so far, while 18,536 people have received both doses of the vaccine.

Malta has had 20,409 cases of Covid-19.  17,679 of those have recovered, while 301 have died.
