Farsons chairman Louis Farrugia turns 70

The chairman of the Farsons Group Louis Farrugia has turned 70 years old.

Born on 18 February 1951, Farrugia is one of Malta’s foremost businessmen, and he has been recognised by the country as such after being appointed Member of the National Order of Merit in 2004.

This was in recognition of his contribution, on a national level, to industry and enterprise in Malta.

He joined Farsons in 1974 and became the managing director of the company in 1980 while also holding the post of chairman and/or director on all the group’s subsidiaries or associate companies.

He was president and later vice-president of the Confederation of Private Enterprise between 1985 and 1988, a vice-president of the Federation of Industries, and also vice-president of the Federation of Industries.

He was also vice-president and eventually president of the Malta Chamber of Commerce.
