Ġorġ Agius, better known as Ġorġ tal-Mużew, has died aged 94.
Agius, a member of the Maltese Society for Christian Doctrine (M.U.E.U.M), has for the past 67 years spent days in hospital visiting patients, particularly those who have no relatives and friends, making up rhymes to lift their spirits.
He ha received various awards over the years for his contribution towards making the lives of elderly and other patients in hospitals a little bit more cheerful.
In 2016, he was given a lifetime award by the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector.
Agius was also known as ‘God’s poet’.
