A man and a woman were grievously injured in separate accidents in Qormi and Zabbar on Monday afternoon, the police said.

In the first accident, at 4.30pm in Mdina Road, Qormi, a Toyota Vitz driven by a 37-year-old woman of Zebbug Gozo and a Kia Rio driven by a 32-year-old woman of Qormi were involved in a collision. The Vitz ended up crashing into three parked vehicle.

The 37-year-old woman was taken to hospital with grievous injuries.

Thirty minutes later, in Ghollieqa Street corner with Qalbiena Maltin Square, a collision took place between a Yamaha motorbike ridden by a 29-year-old man of Zabbar and a Toyota Auris driven by a 32-year-old man of Zejtun.

The biker was taken to hospital with grievous injuries.
