Over 400 new cases of Covid-19 are expected to be registered today, this newsroom is informed.

This would again break the record high number of daily cases. The current record stands at 362 on 4 March.

Recently the government introduced a number of new restrictions following a surge in cases. The UK variant, which is highly contagious, is currently also present in Malta.

The health authorities are currently administering the vaccine to certain sections of society. The new measures were introduced to try and control the situation as more people receive the vaccine.

The past few days have also seen an increase in recoveries. Yesterday for example, 390 people recovered from the virus.
