283 new cases of Covid-19 found as four more patients pass away

283 new cases of Covid-19 were reported by health authorities on Thursday as four more patients have passed away while positive for the virus.

During the last 24 hours, three men aged 79, 72, and 60 and an 80-year-old woman passed away at Mater Dei Hospital while Covid-19 positive.

341 people have now died while positive for the virus.

338 people meanwhile have recovered from the virus, taking the number of active cases of the virus down to 3,123.

4,746 swab tests were done on Wednesday, taking the total number of swab tests up to 742,643 so far.

108,971 doses of the vaccine were administered up till Wednesday, with 36,246 people having received both doses of the jab.

Malta has had 25,640 cases so far.  22,176 people have recovered, while 341 have died.
