Over the past week, a man was fined €350 by a court after he was found guilty of falsifying a Covid-19 test.

The authorities have stepped up enforcement after the latest round of restrictive measures were announced last week. Public gatherings have been reduced to four persons, while non-essential outlets have been closed down.

The wearing of facemasks in public remains in force, with people only allowed to remove them while eating and drinking, on condition that they are sitting down.

There is a €100 fine for breaches of this Legal Notice.

All organised sports have been banned, and schools closed down on Monday. Mass events remain banned and all religious public activities, including those related to Holy Week and Easter have been cancelled. Gatherings at private households are restricted to groups coming from not more than four different households.
