3,279 divorces have been registered since 2013, Minister for Home Affairs, National Security and Law Enforcement Byron Camilleri said in an answer to a parliamentary question asked by PN MP Therese Comodini Cachia.
No information could be provided as to whether these families are of Maltese nationality or not.
In March 2018, the number of divorces stood at 2328.
Divorce was introduced in Malta in 2011, where 52 in parliament were in favour, 11 against, while 5 abstained.
