An elderly man was grievously injured in a traffic accident in Ta’ Qali on Thursday.

The accident took place in Triq il-Kbira at around 9:30am, the police said.

The 80-year-old, who lives in Naxxar, was driving a Mitsubishi pickup that was involved in a crash with an Opel Astra driven by a 24-year-old man from Siggiewi.

The casualty was treated at Mater Dei Hospital. The police are investigating.
