Four Georgians have been arrested in connection with several thefts after their car was spotted by an off-duty policeman.
The police said that, following intensive investigations by the Major Crimes Unit and the Mosta District, the foreign men and the car they were using were identified.
The vehicle was spotted in St Paul’s Bay on Sunday morning by an off-duty member of the Rapid Intervention Unit. He informed the control room, and a number of officers were sent t make an arrest. Two men were arrested when the vehicle was stopped. The officers then established that two others were residing in an apartment in Qawra. They were also arrested and, inside the residence, the police found a number of stolen items.
Investigations are ongoing.
