Education Minister Justyne Caruana has been admitted to Mater Dei Hospital, the government said in a statement.

Her condition is stable.

The reason why she was admitted for medical care is not yet known.

She is being kept under observation, the Education Ministry said.

Caruana came under fire recently after it emerged that she had given her footballer friend Daniel Bogdanovic a contract for €15,000 for three months’ work on the national sports curriculum.
