1,880 people fined for breaching Covid-19 regulations in a week

1,880 persons were fined for breaching Covid-19 regulations over the past week, the authorities said.

Most of the fines issued were related to the wearing (or not) of face masks (1,222)  and breaches of the regulation restricting gatherings of more than two persons in public 473 fines.

Another 172 persons were fined for not adhering to the regulations relating to private gatherings in residences. Private gatherings are limited to two households.

“With the numbers under control, it is important that we continue to take care of each other,” the authoritie said, adding that they will continue to enforce the measures for the public’s protection.

The measures are expected to be reviewed in the coming days.
