55 new Covid-19 cases found, no new deaths

55 new cases of Covid-19 were reported by health authorities on Thursday.

It was another day where no new deaths were reported – the fourth in five days this week.

45 people meanwhile have recovered from the virus, meaning that the number of active cases currently stands at 588.

1,803 swab tests were carried out in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of swab tests up to 840,325 so far.

259,272 doses of the vaccine have been administered so far, with 78,139 people now fully vaccinated with both doses.

Malta has had 29,833 cases of the virus. 28,842 of those have recovered, while 403 have died.
