A German man fell victim to a violent mugging in Gzira on Thursday night, the police said.

The case took place at Ġnien tal-Gżira at around midnight.

The man, 46, was assaulted by two men. He tried to escape but the assault continued, and the aggressors stole his backpack before fleeing the scene. The victim was given medical assistance after suffering slight injuries.

The police are investigating and are on the lookout for the aggressors.
