102 people live in homeless shelters

102 people live in homeless shelters in Malta, Minister for Social Justice and Solidarity, the Family and Children's Rights revealed in an answer to a parliamentary question.

The minister remarked that more than 75% of them are men, (77), while 25 are women.

He also said that these shelters are "financed practically 100% by the Government" through the Line Vote for Public Social Partnerships, which has up till now spent €10,050,000.

This is apart form another €835,000 provided to Fondazzjoni Dar il-Hena which works exclusively as an emergency shelter to host homeless people.
