Digging for an underpass at the Birkirkara end of the Mriehel by-pass is set to start in yet another multi-million project aimed to ease the traffic flow.

Infranstrucure Minister Ian Borg announced this morning on Facebook that the underpass will precede work on a roundabout on top.

The area referred to by the minister is opposite the MFSA headquarters in Mriehel, at the start of the Central Link project (Birkirkara side).

The new set up will be leading drivers from the Mriehel by-pass to the Central Link and Birkirkara.Santa Venera, and vice-versa.

The minister said that the project is aimed to ease congestion and make roads safer.

He added that the project, when completed, will improve the traffic flow.
