A 59-year-old man was grievously injured on Saturday after he fell a height of two and a half storeys.

The accident took place at around 11am in Triq il-President Anton Buttigieg, Żejtun, the police said.

The man was carrying out some works inside his own residence.

The casualty was given first aid on site and was later taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. Members of the Civil Protection Department also provided assistance.

The police are investigating the case.
