A 65-year old man today was accused of sexually abusing a 12-year old girl in his garage in Żejtun.

The man was charged with performing sexual acts with the girl and with defiling her. His name cannot be published as per court order.

The girl spoke about her experience with an educator who informed the school’s authorities and the case was referred to the children’s protection agency.

Magistrate Ian Farrugia denied the man’s request for bail.

The case was investigated by Inspector Kylie Borg while Dr Edward Gatt is appearing for the pensioner.
