A 60-year-old man was seriously injured after riding on a sofa boat ride on Saturday evening, police said.
In a statement, the police said that at around 6:45pm it was informed that a man had been taken to Mater Dei Hospital after he was injured while out at sea in St. Paul’s Bay.
Preliminary investigations on site by district police found that a 60-year-old man from Germany was injured while on what is known as a sofa boat ride.
The man was later certified as being seriously injured.
Duty magistrate Natasha Galea Sciberras was informed of the case and appointed a magisterial inquiry.
Police investigations are still ongoing.
