A man was grievously injured during an argument in Mellieha on Monday, the police said.

The incident took place in Triq il-Marfa, at around 12:15pm.

The police said an argument broke out between a 32-year-old man from Hamrun, a 42-year-old man from Valletta and a 37-year-old woman from Msida.

The 42-year-old was grievously injured. He was given first aid on site and was later taken to Mater Dei Hospital for medical care.

The police are investigating.
